Brief description of the aims and objectives of the award
The main aim of this course is to develop good logical and technical skills in students so that they can help create safeguards in practice, increase security and reduce vulnerability in their systems. This can also help organizations to develop a good security policy in order to minimize risks of getting attacked. The purpose is to not only prevent attacks but can also enhance the ability to deal with an ongoing criminal activity and install a system as preventative mechanism against future attacks.

- A minimum age of 18
- A good level of written English
DISS is designed for students with either level 3 qualifications or one year experience of working in IT or HSSC with computer science as major.
Assessment
Learners for this course will be assessed by the coursework. The assessments guide lines are giving at the end of each modules, which also contains the mapping of learning outcomes related with the particular assessment criteria. There can be more than one coursework for one module but preferably the coursework has to be a practical based project depending upon the subject to check the progress of the learners as a summative assessment.
